About WHU
WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management - is a private, state-accredited business school of university rank. It was founded in 1984 through private initiative and, in turn, it fosters private initiative. It is supported by the non-profit WHU Foundation (Stiftung Wissenschaftliche Hochschule für Unternehmensführung).
In the internationally focused and practice-oriented BSc/MSc program WHU prepares its students for management responsibilities in international companies. The objective is not just to provide them with the tools needed for career success: The educational concept additionally promotes a sense of responsibility regarding the social and ecological consequences of management decisions. WHU also emphasises personality development: Studies abroad at two of WHU's nearly 140 partner universities deepen the students' knowledge of other cultures and promote both flexibility and mobility. The general studies program develops the students' discretion in ethical considerations as well.
In addition to this program of initial professional education, WHU offers a PhD program and is active in in-service management development. Together with Kellogg School of Business, the school offers an Executive MBA Program for managers. In March 2005, WHU launched a new Fulltime MBA Program. A joint Bucerius/WHU Master of Law and Business Program is offered since 2006. The Metro Business Program and other company-related programs complete the concept.
Today, 20 academic chairs and more than 50 guest lecturers - from Germany and other countries and drawn from both academia and practice - guarantee WHU's practice-oriented teaching, supported by independent scientific research. With about 340 students in the diploma and BSc/MSc program and about 140 participants in our MBA programs, we have an outstanding student-teacher ratio. Intensive lessons in small groups ensure that students receive an excellent education within the scheduled time frame.
The personal, almost family-like atmosphere at the school is characterized by the fascination and commitment of everyone involved.
